Endangered Tree Studies

Response to Covid

This work is part of a short series studying endangered and diseased trees in the picturesque mountains of Charlevoix, Qc.

Some of the medical imagery shown in the news at the beginning of the pandemic inspired this highly digitized approach.

After reading about the Corona virus and efforts to contain the virus, it was realized these trees have been facing similar threats for quite some time. Protections have been implemented to save the trees, yet the tree disease effecting mostly the birch trees continues. Mountain erosion and high winds uproot or cause breakages in limbs. The beautiful area woodpeckers leave their mark.
Time will tell how forest regeneration will take shape.
